When I was a junior in high school, my father surprised me with a co-ed group trip to Europe. I was thrilled! At the time, I was a creative soul stuck in a small Texas town where diversity was not celebrated.

During this trip, I met other teens from Africa, China and Sweden. I felt anchored in a soul-enriching feeling of belonging. That trip to Europe changed me to the core, and to this day, travel has remained one of my top tools for personal change. Each time I travel, I feel more connected to myself and others.
